Fall 10' Practice Schedule

The season starts on August 26th 2010 at 6:00pm at Kripalu Beach. We will start with a swim test and everyone should be in the clothing they will row in, shorts, tee's etc..., bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Beginning of the year:

Wed. 8/25 7pm Parents meeting Reynolds House - directions

Thur. 8/26 first practice 6pm - 7:30 Kripalu Beach

Fri. 8/27 No practice

Mon. 8/30 Practice 2:45 - 5pm Kripalu Beach
Tue. 8/31 Practice 2:45 - 5pm Kripalu Beach
Wed. 9/1 Practice 2:45 - 5pm Kripalu Beach

Thur. 9/2 6:30 LMMHS - Mandatory sports meeting for athlete and at least one parent. Permission forms and fees will be collected.

Fri. 9/3 Team picture right after school (wear your uniform if you have one)

Further practice details will be announced at practice.

Wed. 9/8 - 7pm parents booster meeting at LMMHS teachers lounge (all future meetings will be at 7pm in lounge at LMMHS on the first Wednesday of the month)

Where is Kripalu Beach:

The beach is located on Route 183 (Interlaken Rd.). Heading south from Lenox the entrance is on the left just before the entrance to BCD, it is before the public boat launch. The entrance is a dirt road and there is a large mound (new Kripalu septic system) and a field next to the dirt road. If you pull in the dirt road and park just before the gate, you can walk down to the beach from there. Most practices are held at the beach and it helps if you can arrange to carpool with other parents from the team. Athletes will need a ride to the beach from school and home once practice is over. When we are loading and unloading boats then we will often meet at the public boat launch.

Also Rowers can get grease on their shorts from the boats, so it may help to have an old towel to sit on in the car.

What to bring to the water.

Be prepared to get wet.

Water bottle

Sun screen

Change of clothes

Towel

Sneakers

Water shoes (Crocs, Tevas, or something with a heel strap. Flip flops get stuck in the mud.)

Neoprene booties when the weather gets cold (Can be purchased at Arcadian Shop)
